Easy Crock Pot Chili

Cooking chili in a crock pot is surprisingly easy. Brown the beef with onion and garlic in a skillet and drain. If you’re using a high quality crock pot that can be used directly on a heat stove, you can simply brown the beef with onion and garlic in it. After that, add in the remaining ingredients, mix well, put on the glass lid, adjust the heat setting to low and let it cook for 6 hours. It is as simple as that.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

If you plan to eat this in the morning, cook it before you go to sleep. If your crock pot has an automatic temperature probe, it will automatically put your slow cooker into keep warm mode so you won’t have to worry about overcooking your food. If you want to eat it as dinner when you come home from work, simply cook it before you go to work. It only takes less than 10 minutes to prepare this dish in a crock pot if you have your ingredients ready in the usual places.
